What if I need to miss hours?
If you miss up to 5 hours of a training weekend, those hours may be made up in one of two ways:
- Paid private make-up sessions ($179 per session), or
- Attending the missed portion the next time we offer that course at no additional charge
Until missed hours are completed, you will be marked as an incomplete.
Do I need to take the courses in order?
Yes. All Balanced Body teacher training modules must be taken in order. There are no exceptions.
Do you help with Teaching opportunities and Careers?
Yes. Throughout our training weekends and Boston Body Mentoring Programs, we discuss teaching development, real-world instructor skills, and career opportunities.
We maintain relationships with many top Pilates studios and fitness facilities throughout the area and often help connect strong graduates with employment opportunities. That said, job placement ultimately depends on each student's commitment, professionalism, teaching ability, and readiness.
When can I start Teaching?
After completing each individual Mat or Reformer module (Mat 1, 2, 3 and Reformer 1, 2, 3), many students are able to begin student teaching, apprenticing, or gaining entry-level teaching experience appropriate to their level of training.
Please note, you are not considered a fully certified Pilates Mat or Reformer instructor until you have:
- Completed all required Balanced Body coursework
- Completed required observation, self-practice, and practice teaching hours
- Successfully passed the written and practical final exams
Our Boston Body Mentoring Programs are specifically designed to help bridge the gap between certification and confidently teaching in real studio settings.
Boston Body Pilates also hires instructors directly through our mentoring and apprenticeship programs.
